Welcome back for another wonderful year at Alexandria-Monroe Elementary School!  I’m Stacey Bowen.  I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the students, parents, and staff of Alexandria-Monroe Elementary School and the Alexandria Community.  There are many exciting things happening at Alexandria-Monroe Elementary that will certainly have a positive impact on student growth and achievement.  For the past twenty years, I have enjoyed the privilege of working with students as a special education teacher, classroom teacher, instructional coach, district staff developer, assistant principal, and principal. This is my first year serving our Alexandria-Monroe students as the principal.  Wow!  It just proves that time truly does fly when you are having fun!  

My primary objective as the principal is to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all students so that we may improve academically through the excellent instruction and the numerous activities made available to students.

As a strategy to promote our targeted growth, our students help to set their own academic goals. Action steps needed to reach those goals are also established and staff as well as students continually track and monitor their progress throughout the year. Teachers meet with students frequently to review the data and provide any necessary support needed to help students meet their goals. We reflect on our goals and celebrate our successes along the way. Our students and staff have a “Think Positive, Feel Positive, Live Positive!” attitude.  With our positive attitude at Alexandria-Monroe Elementary, we don’t do easy.  We make easy happen through hard work and learning every day.
